Overview

Company: WKYC Channel 3 News Studio

When we first met with the team from WKYC, we instantly knew there was a great fit between our teams. Communication (and laughter) flowed easily while we poured over the details of how to bring their new branding style guide to life in their existing news studio.

Design Features

  • It wasn’t all fun and games, though. A tight timeline required fast, detailed communication and many site visits. All the while, we had to work around their shooting schedule; as we know, the “The show must go on!” This meant our approach of a minimally disruptive installation would be a perfect fit.
  • By fabricating everything at our facility, we were able to install the new studio elements around the needs of the news team.
  • Some of the dynamic elements included glowing walls, dimensional logos, and an anchor desk transformation. Modernizing those 2-story “hockey sticks” was no small feat, either!

I couldn't be more satisfied with PFI Displays. We gave them a new challenge...redesign a television news studio...and they did amazing work. They were flexible--working around showtimes. They were smart--finding cost-efficient solutions to costly problems. They were professional--working closely with our cameramen and directors to get every angle and shot just right. And they were fast--building a great-looking and study set in just weeks. I was extremely impressed with the entire team and hope to work with them, again.
